Another Year is Dawning: Looking Back & Looking Ahead
As the calendar flips from one year to the next, I find myself both looking back on the past year and looking ahead at the new year. As I look back at the past year, I find myself praising God for seeing me through each day. No matter what has taken place, God has been with me in every moment. This is cause for great praise! As I look ahead at the new year, I find myself experiencing both excitement and, at times, trepidation. I experience excitement as I think about the possibilities the next 365 days hold. Trepidation grips my heart because I know there will be hard times too. I know that I need to submit both my excitement and trepidation to God. Lest, in pride, I plan my year without Him. And, in fear, doubt that He will hold me safely in His arms through raging storms that may await. It’s from this place I pieced together this month’s Family Worship Guide.
