Come What May: Shakespeare in the Homeschool blog post
We use Arkangel recordings through Audible to follow along with the full plays. They are very well done. I believe you can also purchase the Arkangel productions on CD through Amazon as well.
I want to commend the work of Cindy Rollins and Angelina Stanford to you here too. Cindy has encouraged me to just keep reading Shakespeare in our homeschool, which we have been doing for nearly a decade now. Without her encouragement to keep plodding, I’m not sure we would have kept it up – or at least we likely wouldn’t have kept it up as regularly. Angelina has helped me to become a better reader not only with Shakespeare but with other works too. Both have contributed to my growing need for bookshelves with their books recommendations and commonplace quotes.
Cindy Rollins’ “Morning Time: A Liturgy of Love” and “The Morning Time Student Anthology” are fantastic for helping you choose passages from Shakespeare to add to your Memory Work or Recitation.
Cindy Rollins’ “Beyond Mere Motherhood” has some encouragement for Shakespeare for moms too, which also includes a schedule for “Shakespeare in a Year”.
I recommend The Literary Life Podcast to you, if you are looking for a starting point with Shakespeare or if you have been reading Shakespeare for years. You can find several episodes on Shakespeare’s plays. These podcast episodes are well worth the time you devote to them.
Of the resources shared here, some we have used for years, some we are currently using, and some are for my studies and preparation alone.
